Gardner Family Adventure

We went to Bass Lake and Yosemite for a Gardner Family Reunion.
We had tons of fun and everybody got to meet Cute Baby Cael.

(Cael's first plane ride at 13 weeks. He definitely takes after the Gardner side, he loved the plane ride and looking out the window!)

Like Father Like Son

Ben and Cael taking a nap.

The light above them was off, so I turned it on to get a better picture.

After a few seconds of the light being on.

Our Fun Food Adventures

Since I have been home on Maternity Leave we have been watching more TV. Some of our favorite shows at the moment are Man v. Food/Food Network which I blogged about before. On the Food Network they have featured a couple of restaurants that are famous for either deserts/food. Since a couple of these places are within driving distance from us, we thought what the heck, lets have some fun.

The 1st place we went to was Oklahoma Joes in Kansas city which is considered one of the 13 places you have to eat before you die. I was still in my 1st trimester of pregnancy when we went and my main food aversion was red meet and Oklahoma Joes serves almost all BBQ (not a fun combination). Ben thought the BBQ was one of the best he has ever had.  This place gets 2 thumbs up.

The 2nd place we went is called Pappy's in St. Louis. It has been voted the best BBQ in the STL. They only make a certain amount of food a day and once they are out of food, they close for the day. I am not a big BBQ fan but Pappy's makes one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I have ever had. This place gets 2 thumbs up.

The 3rd place we went was The Blue Owel in Kimswick, Mo (the sticks). We went specifically for their pies. We shared a piece of the apple pie. The pie seemed to be lacking something, it was not very good. This place gets 2 thumbs down.
The 4th place we went was SuperDawgs in Chicago. It is considered one of the 1000 places you have to see before you die. When you go to SuperDawgs do not attempt to order a hot dog cause they only sell superdawgs. The superdawg comes in a box stuffed with french fries. This place gets 1 thumbs up and 1 thumbs down.

Now we are looking for our next adventure! Anyone have any suggestions?
