I heart 64
Oh that's right, you were getting a face lift.
Who is 64? 64 is the highway that runs right through the STL. I didn't realize how much I loved 64 until it was taken away. It reopened today and will give me 30 mins of my life back, each business day.
I HEART you 64!
Join me in welcoming back 64!
PS. Sorry radio, that means I will be spending less time with you. Don't worry it's not you, it's me.

New title - BENLON
Ben does not have a escalade and we do not live close to a fire hydrant.
But, we will always wear our sunglasses and pretend we don't like the paparazzi following us.

It's been a long time
I just noticed that I have never finished typing about our Roadcation. So here it is. Day 3 we went to Omaha, Nebraska to see Winter Quarters. We were looking at the graves where a lot of later day saints were buried, when we started to hear a weird noise coming from the ground. The ground next to us looked like something was coming out of it. Then all of a sudden the sprinklers came on. We went running.
We then did the whole sight see thing and drove home.
I hope it does not take me another month to post something again.

Roadcation Part 2
Council Bluffs
The 2nd day we drove to see the Kanesville Tabernacle.
This one is for all you American Idol Fans.
"Apparently" while we were listing to all the stories about the Tabernacle we were sitting right behind David Archuleta. I had no idea. He looked really young. I would have never of known except when we were all leaving this missionary goes up to him and says "my wife would really love to get a picture with you". Later, we asked the missionary who that guy was and he told us. And then 5 mins later I had to ask Ben what that guys name was again. I am not an big American Idol fan.

Roadcation Part 1
Missouri
Independence
Temple Lot, when you stand on this lot you are higher than anything else around you.
This is the RLDS (community of Christ) Temple. We got to take a tour but it seemed more like an art museum than a temple inside.
Liberty Jail, the only thing original about this jail is the floor and some of the stones on the side.
FarWest
When we arrived, there was a car in the parking lot and on the back of that car it said in big bold letters, the book of Mormon is total fiction. When we walked onto the temple grounds I started looking around trying to match that car to the owner. It wasn't that hard. This very patient missionary was being antagonized by this man. And of course, if you know Ben he could not just mind his own business. Ben stood by one of the stones pretending to look at it while listening to what this guy was saying. When we got back to the car the first thing Ben says is "I want to give him a Book of Mormon". I immediately told him "no, he is going to punch you in the face". I could totally picture it in my head. Ben hands him a book and boom, a fight on temple grounds. They would probably have to rededicate it.
I gave in and let Ben bring the guy a BofM. My anxiety was through the roof as I sat in the car watching Ben. And thank goodness Ben did not get punched. Ben spent a good half hour talking to this guy and all this guy wanted to do is blah, blah, blah people's ear's off.
Adam-ondi-Ahman
Ben on Temple Hill. Remains of the Nephite's tower was found here.
Hauns Mill
This place is located in the middle of corn fields and tress. The only thing left is the creek.
When we pulled up to the site these big bugs started attacking our car. They looked like BIG bees. These bug flew full force into our car. We had to sit in the car for at least 5 mins before we could even get out.

If I didn't have a Dog......
My house could be carpeted instead of wood.
All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture, blankets and cars would be
free of hair.
When the doorbell rings, it wouldn't sound like a kennel and I could get to the door without wading through a fuzzy body who beats me there.
I could sit on the couch and bed the way I wanted, without taking into consideration how much space a fury body needs to get comfortable.
I would have money and no guilt to go on a real vacation.
I would not be on a first-name basis with a veterinarian, as I put their yet unborn kids through college.
The most used words in my vocabulary would not be: out, sit, down, come, no, stay, stop it and leave it.
I would not talk baby talk. ' Was your breakfast good '. 'How's my baby girl' ..
My house would not look like a day care center, toys everywhere.
My pockets would not contain things like poop bags and treats .
I would no longer have to spell out the words B-A-L-L, W-A-L-K, T-R-E-A-T, C-A-R R-I-D-E
I would not have as much dirt inside my house as outside.
I would not look strangely at people who think having ONE
dog ties them down too much.
I'd look forward to spring and the rainy season instead of dreading it .
I would not have to answer the question 'Why do you have a dog?' from people who will never have the joy in their lives of knowing they are loved unconditionally by someone as close to an angel as they will ever get in this life.
How EMPTY my life would be!!!
Happy 7th Birthday Sandy!!

Dream Vacation
I have wanted to go ever since I started getting into my genealogy about 6 years ago. Not much is known about my moms genealogy. All we really know is that my great grandparents came over from Sicily. Great grandfather Angelo came over with his brother Rosario in the early 1900's and Angelo's wife Maria come over a couple years later. After Rosario's son died he left the US and went back to Sicily. I know Angelo and Maria parents name but that is about it. So I can't wait until we go to Sicily. I am going to look up every Pulvirenti living in Sicily to see if they are related to me. And Ben thinks this trip is going to be relaxing.

Our Life
We have done a lot. We went to Vegas for our honeymoon. Rode my first scooter and almost crashed. Got sealed in the STL Temple. Saw 3 brother-N-Laws go on missions. Ben got his wisdom teeth pulled. Moved into our first apartment. I got my first and second defibrillator. Ben stopped working nights. Lost my 14 old dachshund to old age. Seen all my friends have kids. I got a bachelor in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Ben got a Associate in Arts. Our car got broken into and they stole our scriptures. I went from working at the bank to working for a investment firm. Ben still works at Wal-Mart. We have gone on many vacations (Utah, Alabama, North Carolina, Mexico, California, Oklahoma, Arizona, Missouri). Made some new friends and have lost touch with some old ones. Seen good friends move away (hopefully they will move back). Rode my first wave runner and four wheeler. Sandy moved in with us. Ben has had 2 motorcycles. We bought a new car. Moved into my parents basement then Ben's parents basement. We bought our first house. Ben bought a Firebird (fixer upper). Swam with Sandy in the lake. Donated my hair to locks of love 2 times. Lost our baby. Ben started his Radiology program. Rode my second scooter. Saw 2 Brother-N-Laws get married. Have seen a lot of people we love get cancer and we have lost some to cancer.
We have had my laughs and some cries but I couldn't imagine doing it with anybody else.

Tornado
I thought at first that lighting struck it. I freaked out a little and called 911. Ya, they never came. They probably had more important things to worry about. It turns out that a neighbors huge tree got struck by lighting and half of it fell on the power lines. So with all its weight it ripped our telephone pole into 3. We lost power and cable for a day. As for that tornado it was about 2 miles away from our house.

Lately
We went to Nauvoo with the family. We watch the sun set on the Mississippi and saw the sights. It was a much needed break.
Ben and I drove around town in his car while he wore his motorcycle helmet to see how many people would look at us. It was great times. One lady almost gave herself whiplash looking at Ben.

OKC
We went to the Wrestling Hall of Fame Museum. Ben LOVED it. Me on the other hand, I am usually pretty tolerable to Ben and his wrestling passion/obsession. But the hall of fame was a little much for me. I had made it half way through the museum and Ben was still on the first exhibit reading every little thing.
I did learn an interesting fact about wrestling that Ben didn't know. Cael Sanderson (the man we are naming our first born son after) will not be coaching at Iowa State next year, he is going to Penn State (who even new that they had a wrestling program). Ben was a little disappointed about that news.
We also went the Oklahoma City bombing memorial. It was completely intense/touching, no words could describe it. The chairs in the picture represent all the people killed in the bombing.
While we where on our mini vacation something had attacked by bird house. I think it was our fat hungry birds.

How you know your family is getting old
We where in the kitchen when somehow we got on the topic about blood pressure and what meds people take for high blood pressure. My Uncle brought up that fact that he has his own blood pressure machine. So he got it out and each one of us got our blood pressure taken to see who had the highest.
We need to get some little kids in this family so we can talk about how many Easter eggs they got instead of what your blood pressure was.

Viv's Birthday
Happy Pre Birthday to Viv. We celebrated it on Sunday and had a special Sunday birthday dinner! All month long I have been secretly working on a breast cancer quilt for her. It is made out of mostly breast cancer fabric. I was really afraid she wouldn't like it because she really does not like pink. But o well she got the wrong cancer for that. So I gave it to her and she really liked it. She could not believe that I did it all on my own (I secretly know how to sew a little). I am just glad she liked it and now she has a feel good blanket to wrap up in on her bad days. Happy Birthday Viv!

What is he thinking

At my work we have a pond and every year a bunch of geese flock to it. And every year we always have one that lays her eggs either in or next to the parking garage. This year a goose laid her eggs on the outside of the parking garage next to the road. Every day her man is either standing or sitting in the middle of the road. So when a car tries to drive by, the goose who is trying to protect his women goes after the cars. He will run up to moving cars snapping his mouth at the car tiers. It does not matter how big the car is. This all happens right outside of my window at work. One day everybody in my department stood at the window and watched this goose atack every car that went by. We all had a great laugh until our Bose came out of her office giving us the worst look :(

3 Days of wrestling
It is that time a year again. The time of year that I do not see my husband for 3 days. Why? It is the NCAA Wrestling Championships. Now don't get 2 excited.
This year I decided that I wanted to go watch the wrestling. I did not go to all 3days I just went to one night. Ben thought it was so cool that I went with him. One of the main reason why I went is because I wanted to get a picture of the guy that we will be naming our first born son after. I never got close enough to meet him.
Cael Sanderson
Ben is already planning on going to next years Championships in Nebraska.
I would list every weight class with the winners but I am worried about copyright issues and plus I don't think you guys really care.

Snowy Weekend
On our way home we got caught on the highway in a horrible snow storm. We sat and sat in the car with no where to go. The longer we sat on the roads the worse they got. After sitting still for hours we decided maybe we should get a hotel room and stay the night. We called Every hotel in the nearest town and Every hotel was completely booked. The next town after that was 23 miles away so, we started to call those hotels and finally we were able to get 2 rooms. By the time we got to our hotel we had only driven 80 miles and it took us 8 hours. When we woke up and started home the next day, we saw car after car in the ditch.
It was actually a fun weekend. And our friend did a awesome job at wrestling.

New Room
Last mother's day Ben painted our spare bedroom pink and blue. He wanted to let me know how serious he was about starting a family. It was a sweet gesture but it was to much pink and to much blue. We named it the pink and blue room. We finally painted it the other day a more neutral color. Ben thinks it a boring color.
I am thinking about taking up quilting as a hobby and make the spare bedroom a quilt room. But I really do not have the time to quilt. Or I was thinking about making it Sandy's room. Some place she can keep all of her toys.
I haven't decided what to do with it. It will probably end up as a catch all room.
Next room to paint is our living room. Ben thinks it looks like a green olive. It is painted a mustard yellow color with a green accent wall. I have to admit that the mustered color was not what I was going for. I really wanted a light tan color. It was such a pain painting the room the first time that I can't get myself to repaint it.

Weekend
LA is a very interesting place and I can't wait to go back and do the real touristy things. We went to Vince Beach and I had to touch the Pacific Ocean. Ben and I wanted our picture taken by the water but we ended up standing to close to it and a big wave came in and I got soaked. I about lost my feet to frost bite. That ocean is sooooo cold.
We also went to Disneyland and California Adventure. I was a little worried about riding all the rides, with me just having surgery. But everything turned out just fine. I got the highest score on the buz light year ride! Which is a big deal because I beat all the brothers.

Snow Day
The snow brings back so many memories...like being in grade school and every time it snowed you wished and wished that they would call of school. You would watch the TV hoping to see that your schools name appeared at the bottom of the screen. I still get that itch, to run to the TV and look at the school closings. Oh to be a kid again. To run and jump in the snow without anybody staring at you wondering what you are doing.
We had about 6-7 inches of snow!!
