3 Days of wrestling

It is that time a year again. The time of year that I do not see my husband for 3 days. Why? It is the NCAA Wrestling Championships. Now don't get 2 excited.
This year I decided that I wanted to go watch the wrestling. I did not go to all 3days I just went to one night. Ben thought it was so cool that I went with him. One of the main reason why I went is because I wanted to get a picture of the guy that we will be naming our first born son after. I never got close enough to meet him.
Cael Sanderson

Ben is already planning on going to next years Championships in Nebraska.
I would list every weight class with the winners but I am worried about copyright issues and plus I don't think you guys really care.

March 12, 2009

Ben's aunt Eileen passed away due to cancer. The suffering is finally over. We all knew it was coming but it is still hard when it happens. She will surely be missed. Eileen was such a wonderful person, she always opened her house up to us when we visited Utah. Her family is in our prayers.

Sandy's first play date

Sandy had her first (kind of) play date with a dog named Marley. This is a big step for Sandy. Sandy does not like other dogs, she thinks she is a human (I can't say this to loud but she really is a d o g). She does not know how to interact with other dogs. I think the play date went well. Ben introduced the dogs Cesar Millan style (calm assertive). They worked on building a pack while on a walk. By the time the walk was over Sandy was walking right next to Marley. You may not think that is such a big deal but if you really knew my dog, it is a big step in making her more sociable. It is still a work in progress. My goal is for Sandy and Marley to be able to play together without Sandy trying to eat him.

Snowy Weekend

We went to southern Missouri this weekend. A friend of ours was having a mid life crises so he decided to wrestle in a open tournament and Ben was coaching him. The day of the tournament we woke up to snow. We must of had 2 inches by the time we left the hotel. It had stopped snowing and started to melt by the time the tournament was over. So we decided to go to the Bass Pro Shop, the very first one ever built. This place was ginormous and packed with people. You walk into a 2 story entrance filled completely with dear heads. This is not the place someone wants to go into that doesn't like hunting.
On our way home we got caught on the highway in a horrible snow storm. We sat and sat in the car with no where to go. The longer we sat on the roads the worse they got. After sitting still for hours we decided maybe we should get a hotel room and stay the night. We called Every hotel in the nearest town and Every hotel was completely booked. The next town after that was 23 miles away so, we started to call those hotels and finally we were able to get 2 rooms. By the time we got to our hotel we had only driven 80 miles and it took us 8 hours. When we woke up and started home the next day, we saw car after car in the ditch.
It was actually a fun weekend. And our friend did a awesome job at wrestling.

New Room

Last mother's day Ben painted our spare bedroom pink and blue. He wanted to let me know how serious he was about starting a family. It was a sweet gesture but it was to much pink and to much blue. We named it the pink and blue room. We finally painted it the other day a more neutral color. Ben thinks it a boring color.

I am thinking about taking up quilting as a hobby and make the spare bedroom a quilt room. But I really do not have the time to quilt. Or I was thinking about making it Sandy's room. Some place she can keep all of her toys.
I haven't decided what to do with it. It will probably end up as a catch all room.

Next room to paint is our living room. Ben thinks it looks like a green olive. It is painted a mustard yellow color with a green accent wall. I have to admit that the mustered color was not what I was going for. I really wanted a light tan color. It was such a pain painting the room the first time that I can't get myself to repaint it.

VDay

I hope everybody had a awesome Valentines Day. I sure did! Ben took me to see Shopaholic. I am sure it was a great sacrifice for him but, he did it for love. He's my hero, most guys wouldn't go see a chick flick. Now to the funny part of the evening. After I got done changing for our date I noticed that my shirt wasn't fitting right. I looked in the mirror, nothing looked odd. Oh well, I thought and off to the movie we went. I sat down at the movie theater and I touched the front of my collar on my shirt and to my surprise there was my tag. I had my shirt on backwards! How embarrassing you think but, I had on a shirt that looked the same on the front and back, nobody even noticed. I went and switched my shirt around and tada it feels better.

Weekend

We went to LA for Ry's wedding. It was really nice even though it rained off and on. I am glad Ry was able to find someone that makes him happy. 3 down only 2 more to go.

LA is a very interesting place and I can't wait to go back and do the real touristy things. We went to Vince Beach and I had to touch the Pacific Ocean. Ben and I wanted our picture taken by the water but we ended up standing to close to it and a big wave came in and I got soaked. I about lost my feet to frost bite. That ocean is sooooo cold.

We also went to Disneyland and California Adventure. I was a little worried about riding all the rides, with me just having surgery. But everything turned out just fine. I got the highest score on the buz light year ride! Which is a big deal because I beat all the brothers.
